Made New

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

What does the word ‘new’ mean to you? The dictionary defines it as ‘Produced, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time; not existing before.’ I love the ‘not existed before’ bit of that definition. The bible talks frequently about newness too; new days, new songs, and new things to name a few. This is because God loves newness. He revels in making all things new.To me, this shows that God is interested in things that have not existed before. He is not into mass production and replication of the same things but new creation of new things for new seasons.Because we are now in Christ, Jesus brings brings about a freshness to our lives that cannot be measured. As it is so new, there is nothing that it can be compared to. He has remade you unique.2 Corinthians also says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)This should give us all something to rejoice in. We are not remodelled versions of who we were before Jesus came in and turned our lives around. We are brand new, as never existed before people. And it is even better than that. We don’t get this fresh newness only once, but every day as we come before Jesus. So go out today singing praises to Jesus, and enjoy living in His newness.
